शीशमबाड़ा सोलिड वेस्ट मैनेजमेंट प्लांट में लगी आग दो दिन बाद भी नहीं बुझ पाई है। धुंए की वजह से ग्रामीणों को घुटन हो रही है। चिंता की बात है कि दमकल विभाग ने भी आग बुझाने पर हाथ खड़ कर दिए हैं। दमकल विभाग की टीम लगातार आग बुझाने में लगी है। लेकिन प्लांट में मौजूद कूड़ा अब भी धू धूकर जल रहा है। प्लांट से उठ रहा धुआं सेलाकुई से लेकर आसपास के गांवों में सुबह नौ बजे तक छाया रहा।
धुएं के कारण लोगों को घुटन महसूस होने लगी है और सांस लेने में दिक्कत हो रही है। दमकल विभाग का कहना है कि आग बुझाने में काफी कठिनाई आ रही है। फायर ब्रिगेड के और वाहन मंगाये गये हैं। जिससे गुरुवार तक आग पर काबू पाया जा सके। बता दे कि सोमवार बीते बारह बजे दोपहर में अचानक शीशमबाड़ा स्थित सॉलिड वेस्ट मैनेजमेंट प्लांट में आग लग गई थी। आग ने विकराल रूप धारण किया हुआ है।
दमकल विभाग की टीम घटना के दिन से ही पांच गाड़ियों के साथ आग बुझाने के काम में लगी है। लेकिन आग लगने के तीसरे दिन यानी 51 घंटे पूरी तरह से बीत चुके हैं। दमकल विभाग की टीम रात दिन आग बुझाने में लगी है। लेकिन आग बुझ नहीं पा रही है। लाखों टन कबाड़ अंदर की सतह तक आग पकड़ चुका है।
जिसके चलते लगातार आग को बुझाने के बावजूद प्लांट के अंदर कचरे में लगी आग सुलगती ही जा रही है। आग के कारण शीशमबाड़ा प्लांट के साथ साथ सेलाकुई बाजार से लेकर सिंघनीवाला, शेरपुर, मेदनीपुर, बायांखाला, हसनपुर कल्याणपुर के ऊपर प्लांट का धुआं फैल गया है। वही प्लांट में स्थानीय लोगों के विरोध के बाद सफाई वाहनों की एंट्री बन्द हो गयी है,ऐसे में शहर के सौ वार्डों का कूड़ा कारगी में डंप करना पड़ रहा है।
